As a funny and adventurous person, I’m always on the lookout for amazing travel destinations. And let me tell you, Colombia is definitely on my bucket list! Now, I know what you might be thinking – is it safe to travel there? Well, let me put your worries to rest – YES, even for solo female travelers like myself!
First of all, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – crime. Yes, Colombia has had its fair share of crime in the past, but let’s be honest – which country hasn’t? The truth is, Colombia has come a long way in terms of safety in recent years. In fact, the country’s crime rate has been dropping steadily for the past decade. And while there is still some risk involved (as there is with any travel), it’s really just a matter of being smart and cautious.
So, what can you do to stay safe in Colombia? Well, for starters, it’s always a good idea to keep your wits about you and stay aware of your surroundings. Don’t flash your valuables around or leave them unattended, and avoid walking alone at night (especially in areas you’re not familiar with). If you’re going out, make sure to arrange transportation in advance or use a reputable taxi service.
But enough about safety – let’s get to the good stuff! Colombia is an absolutely stunning country, and there’s so much to see and do. Whether you’re into bustling cities, breathtaking landscapes, or tranquil beaches, there’s something for everyone here.
Personally, I can’t wait to explore some of Colombia’s charming colonial towns, like Cartagena and Villa de Leyva. And of course, no trip to Colombia would be complete without a visit to the Amazon rainforest, where you can see incredible wildlife and immerse yourself in nature. And let’s not forget about the vibrant culture – Colombia is known for its lively music, delicious food, and welcoming people.
So, without further ado, let me introduce you to a couple of my favorite travel bloggers who have explored Colombia for themselves. First up, we have this stunning photo from Adventure Lies In Front:
